  The Farmers Guild
Picture
We are the newest wave of farmers, ranchers, and sustainable food system advocates. With a passion for feeding our local communities, we unite to share skills, knowledge and a meal after a day in the field. Founded by farmers for farmers, we support all healthy food production by collectively striving toward the economic viability of agriculture as well as the social networks necessary to attract, cultivate and sustain a new generation ready to work the land.

WHAT IS A FARMERS GUILD?

A Farmers Guild is a gathering of farmers, ranchers and agricultural advocates who gather each month to share resources and info, build lasting relationships and celebrate our local food.

Beginning in 2011, a small group of young farmers and ranchers got together over dinner. Out of that evening arose new friendships, opportunities and partnerships often hard to find in rural areas.  Soon, our group grew to over 100 people, and the meals were moved from a crowded ranch-house kitchen to the local Grange.

Today, the founders of the first Farmers Guild are helping farmers across California start their own local Guilds, building a wider and more interconnected network that encourages, inspires and celebrates local agriculture. Each Guild is a grassroots alliance of local farmers and their community.
